Once goods leave the factory, fixing a problem becomes expensive. A structured check before shipment catches most issues while they can still be corrected. This is the checklist we work through.
Fabric and colour
- Fabric weight and hand feel match the approved sample
- Colour matches the approved shade, piece to piece
- No holes, stains, pulls or uneven dyeing
Measurements
Measure a sample of pieces in each size against the size chart. Check the key points: chest, length, shoulder, sleeve and, for bottoms, waist, hip and inseam. Agree a tolerance in advance.
Stitching and finishing
- Seams are straight, secure and not puckered
- No skipped stitches or open seams
- Loose threads are trimmed
- Buttons, zips and drawcords work and are firmly attached
Prints and embroidery
Check the position, size and colour of each print or embroidery against the artwork. Rub and stretch tests show whether a print will crack or peel.
Labels and tags
Brand label, size label and care label must be correct and in the right place. Wrong or missing labels are one of the most common reasons shipments are held.
Packing and cartons
- Folding and polybags follow the packing instructions
- Size and colour ratios in each carton are correct
- Carton markings match the packing list
- Carton count matches the order
Record what you find
Photograph any defects and note how many pieces were affected. A clear record makes it easy to agree on rework before the goods are dispatched.
